Housing
Hamsters need a minimum of unbroken 600 sq inches. Bigger is better. My preferred cage is a bin cage with mesh on the entire lid. Crittertrails are too small. I don't recommend wooden cages personally because I'd imagine they start to reek after a while.

Bedding
Hamsters need a minimum of 5" deep bedding. I like to use the Clean and Cozy bedding with some kaytee aspen mixed in. You can also add some timothy hay to help support tunnel building. Avoid cedar and corn (kay kob) bedding as well as anything that's scented. Also make sure there's no baking soda in the bedding.

Food
They need both blocks and seeds.
Mazuri Rat and Mouse Block (Don't use the Hamster one. It is hay based and they cannot digest hay properly. They will get malnourished. Same reason Oxbow Hamster isn't advisable.) amzn.to/44ssuZ5
Higgins Sunburst seed mix is what is recommended by most hamster groups, but I don't like that there's dried fruit in it, which could be a choking hazard. Also, quite a bit of it is millet, and it's always left in the bowl, so you're just wasting money. This is the kind I recommend. amzn.to/4beQbq6
Treats
I use the human baby yogurt drops and puffs. They have less sugar than hamster yogurt treats and melt in their mouth, so if they get a bit stuck in their cheek pouch, it won't stay there long

Wheel
They need a minimum 11" upright wheel. Don't use saucer wheels. They cause back injuries. If you use an exercise ball, it needs to be a minimum 11" and you MUST supervise them when they're in it. Keep them away from stairs and space heaters, fire places, etc.
