A $75 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a hedgehog for you. If you pay “goods and services” (with purchase protection), it’s $78 to cover the fee.
Deposit is non-transferable, meaning once you place a hedgehog on hold, you cannot decide to use it to place a different one on hold instead. This is because it takes me about an hour to update all my listings.
I accept Paypal, Cash App and Venmo for the deposit. The remaining balance is to be in CASH ONLY at pick up.
Please make sure everyone in your family is on board before making the deposit as it is non-refundable.
You must be over the age of 18 to purchase.
Picking up your Hedgehog
Hedgehogs must be picked up within 7 days of deposit being made (or baby being weaned), unless plans were made with me ahead of time. After 7 days, the baby will be relisted and any and all money sent is forfeit.
If you no show or give less than 2 hours notice of cancellation for pick up appointment TWICE, the baby will be relisted and any and all money already sent will be forfeit.
If you are more than 15 minutes late without communication, I will leave the meet up location and it will be counted as a no show. Please let me know asap if you’re going to be late.
PLEASE REMEMBER I AM IN EASTERN TIME ZONE
If I contact you to let you know your baby is ready and I don’t hear anything back within 72 hours, your baby will be considered abandoned, will be relisted, and any and all money collected will be forfeit.
CASH ONLY for remaining balance. If you show up and can only pay via an online payment company, you must pay friends and family and the total balance of the hedgehog will be subject to a 10% fee to cover taxes and the fee charged to me to immediately transfer it into my account.
Transport I will work with transport, depending on how long it’s going to be before the transport comes. I try to get the babies in their new homes by 10 weeks so they have plenty of time still to bond to their humans. If we do arrange transport, the baby would need to be paid for in full by 7 weeks of age and/or before it leaves, whichever comes first. The money will be NON REFUNDABLE if you back out or if you are not at the meeting spot to meet the transport. Most of them will wait 15 minutes for you before moving on, so be sure you’re reachable. If the hedgehog passes en route, I will replace with another baby as soon as I have one you like. The money will not be refunded. It’ll be up to the transporter on if they refund your transport cost. Also, a $75 health certificate is required for hedgehogs traveling out of the state of KY. Transport normally costs $150-250.
Wait List
It is $75 to join the Wait List ($78 if goods and services)
When the babies are 2-4 weeks old, I will start contacting people on the Wait List to choose their babies. You have 48 hours to respond or your name moves down to the end of the list and I go to the next person.
I cannot guarantee the success of litters or that there will be enough babies. Please understand this before making a deposit.
If I reach out three times to let you know of available babies and you don’t respond anything at all, I will assume you are no longer interested in a hedgehog. Your place on the Wait List will be forfeit along with your deposit.
Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome Guarantee Details I offer a Lifetime Guarantee against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome as long as the following conditions are met:
Since WHS is believed to have a genetic component as well as a dietary one, you MUST feed the same food I feed for the entire life of the hedgehog with no other kibble mixed in. That way I know it was due to the genetics and not to the diet. I feed Science Diet Original Kitten Food, the Chicken and Barley version. It is the one with the three kittens on the bag. Make sure it isn’t the Oceanfish Version as the bags look the same.
Feeding fruit of ANY kind or veggies apart from sweet potato, butternut squash, and pumpkin voids the guarantee. Be careful as many of the baby foods have lemon concentrate in it.
Hedgehog must have been born here. I don’t guarantee retired hedgehogs from another breeder or rescues.
Hedgehog must be housed by themselves in a plastic tote (105 qt or bigger) or C&C cage (with 10" solid walls and 2 heat lamps) ONLY. Any other caging voids the guarantee. Using dirt, corn bedding or cedar as bedding voids the guarantee (effective 3/24/24).
Hedgehog must have proper heat set up including specifically a lamp with a ceramic/porcelain base, Ceramic Heat Emitter bulb, Inkbird 306t thermostat, and a Govee wifi thermometer. No light emitting bulbs. (effective 3/24/24)
WHS must be confirmed via a necropsy (at the owner’s expense). That is the only way to have a definite confirmation. Necropsy must be done by Oregon State University at the Oregon Veterinary Diagnostic Lab. They can have your baby cremated and sent back to you after the necropsy if you wish.
Replacement will be your choice from any available hedgehogs I have within a year from finalized necropsy date.
In conclusion, if you're having any issues with your hedgehog, I am here to help. My help and advice doesn't stop once you leave the door. That's the difference in buying from a petstore/backyard breeder and buying from a reputable breeder. I want to make sure you're happy and your new baby is happy for their whole lives!
Effective 2/13/23, any and all hedgehogs sold are as pet only with NO breeding rights. Any hedgehogs sold by us must be returned to us in the event that you can no longer keep it. You are also agreeing that you will not own a hedgehog of opposite gender while you have your hedgehog from us. If you have any litters, even if not from the AWHH hedgehog, you will be required to return the hedgehog you got from us immediately. No refund will be given. For more details, please ask or read the bottom of the adoption application.
